I had a friend who stayed with us while she was recovering from surgery. She like to go out walking at night and one night told me she didn't get to do it very often, which prompted me to ask why. Her reply was because she was a woman. I live in a neighborhood that is pretty safe and I seldom worry about what is in the dark, but to her the night time streets looked totally different.
